How I got started with Umpiring
Six+ years ago I was asked to do the bases for a private high school, JV game. The plate umpire who asked was the hometown league booking agent. I did the bases - thoroughly enjoyed myself - then worked summer ball ('96) in the same league. That winter I took the PIAA test and have been doing high school baseball, fall baseball and summer baseball since. I have multiple umpire clinics. In January of 2001, I transfered my PIAA membership to Florida (FHSAA) and began working for the Suncoast Umpires Association, Pinellas County, Florida. National Federation Rules (high school) are my specialty, however, I have a working knowledge of OBR and MLB rules.
