Background on the Fire
From church-house to auction-house, Stoner's Auction was a landmark in Southern York County, PA. Thursday, July 2, 1998 the auction-house went up in flames. Investigators have determined the fire was begun in the kitchen - cause of fire "electrical." Each Saturday hundreds invaded the small town of Bonnair for bargains and a country auction. Today the building has been completly torn down and is in the process of being rebuilt. "Stoner's Auction will continue," says owner and auctioneer Harold Stoner, but it will take some time to rebuild.
