Overview
I am a Senior Mechanical Engineering student at York College of Pennsylvania. Graduation is expected in the summer of 2000.

Semester Long Projects: Train and Trebuchet
HO scale model train layouts and digital electronics were designed and built. The project (3 credits Mechatronics class) goal was to create "smart" trains.     View the Train photo gallery

My semester long Trebuchet (tray-boo-shay) paper is now complete and on-line. View the report, learn what a trebuchet is and how to model it, then view the accompanying working model AVI.     Trebuchet Report

The Practical Side of Engineering
Have you ever seen on TV a dare devil artist run their automobile off of a building into a pile of automobiles? Great Escape Artists (TLC) recently aired this stunt. However, the dare-devil artists were "surprised" that the car landed on its roof! Using Working Model I recreated the event and found it no surprise. You will also see the cars velocity, position and acceleration at any time period! And yes, I jazzed the whole thing up with some crazy sound effects.     See the Stunt (Requires AVI)

Past Projects
Through engineering school I have completed many research papers and projects. Examples are listed here.

YCP freshman EPADS class Water Transfer Project. I worked (with a team) to move water from two distant tanks (6ft away) into bottles - covered by tennis balls! The balls had to be removed, bottles filled, and replaced. Of course time, weight and teamwork were factored into the final score. Our team came in first in the final competition.

EPADS II Dynamometer. A base, coupling unit and safety device was built for the YCP dynamometer. Skills built: machine shop, presentation/speech, engineering application.

Penn State Bridge Building. How do you create a bridge to withstand center placed weight out of balsa wood? Very carefully and with lots of glue! For two years I competed in the bridge building contest. The second year, my arched bridge came in first place.
